2011 Pure Stock Rules

 

Body/Roll Cage
Exterior Body
American made sedans or coupes only. No convertibles or station wagons.
All glass,head lights,tail lights,mirrors etc. must be removed.
All body parts must be stock for make and model of car. Any replacement parts
and repairs must be made of steel -- aftermarket plastic front nose piece and rear
tail cover may used but must retain stock appearance.Front and rear bumper tow
hooks are mandatory.
No hood scoops or any other hood alterations. 4 inch maximum rear spoiler-- No
side skirts or any additional material can be added to the body of the car.
Car numbers must be at least 18" on the Top--and on both Doors.
Interior
Stock floor boards along with front and rear firewalls cannot be removed--you can
remove portions for transmission--fuel cell, fuel lines, battery etc. and provide access
panels, but any access panels, holes etc. must be covered and sealed. * If you
decide use interior sheet metal covering from the top of the passenger side door to
the middle of main cage, and from the rear cage to the trunk you still must retain the
complete floor board and both front and rear firewalls.
Aluminum or steel fabricated Racing seat is mandatory. Complete 3" racing
harness is mandatory. Driver side Window safety net is mandatory. Race Car roll
cage padding is recommended. No mirrors allowed.
Roll Cage minimum 1.50 OD x .095 steel tubing. Must have (8) point roll cage --
(4) point main cage the full width of the body( includes mid point crossbars front and
rear) --minimum 3 door bars on both sides. Door bars must have a minimum of (3)
evenly spaced support bars between each door bar.-- (2) bars from front of main
cage crossbar attached to front frame section and (2) bars connecting rear of main
hoop to rear frame section ( must be behind rear axle). All points to be welded to
frame -- Uni body cars must use 1/8" steel plate with (4) 3/8 bolts to attach cage to
unibody.-- (4) steel bars must be mounted in windshield opening in front of drivers
side cage.
Chassis
Stock chassis to retain the OEM specifications of the original suspension design
for that make and model. Suspension components and steering system must remain
in stock OEM condition and location. No added shocks, springs, adjustable parts or
any type of traction device. Engine must remain in stock location.
Unibody cars may add frame connectors only from rear of the front sub frame to
front eye of rear leaf spring attachment. The intended purpose to support the main
cage.
What you can do.
Aftermarket performance shocks may be used but must be steel and mounted in
the original stock location.
Steering quickeners are allowed -- steering shaft may be modified to accept
"quick-release" steering wheels.
Stock reproduction (original diameter) Racing springs/with internal (hidden) spring
buckets for front springs in the stock location.
Rearend housing and Differential --recommended 9" ford -- If you use a 12 bolt
GM with axle clips --Please buy and install clip eliminators. * Note-- All suspension
brackets must be mounted back in stock location-- and rear track width must remain
the same as the original track width.
NO mechanical, electrical, or electronic adjustable suspension parts permitted.
Braking System
You must have brakes mounted on all four wheels. You may use any stock OEM
master cylinder,brake caliper. -- brake pads of your choice. You may adapt or
change rearend housing to accept disc brakes--* If you do modify your braking
system you must use stock interchangeable OEM parts such as hubs, hats, rotors
and brake calipers and retain the original stock location.
The OEM Brake Pedal and Master cylinder mount must remain intact and in its
original condition and position. No adjustable parts.
Transmission, Flywheel, Clutch and Driveshaft
Must use stock OEM manual or automatic transmission. Shift levers may be
modified.
Flywheel must be a steel OEM production unit with starter ring.
Clutch must be a steel OEM production single disc unit. Use of hydraulic clutch
pedal/slave cylinder assembly is allowed.
Driveshaft -- 3" OD minimum-- Steel ONLY. Painted white, bright yellow,
fluorescent green--your choice-- This is an important safety issue!!
Engine Requirements
** Option # 1
Any American OEM made "Small Block" engine for that particular make and
model.
Any OEM block, crankshaft, rods, oil pumps, cylinder heads, distributor, balancer,
and valve covers.
The following components may be either stock or stock reproduction parts.
These parts include: intake and exhaust valves, valve springs( stock diameter
only ),spring retainers, locks, oil pump, push rods, lifters( solid or hydraulic only - NO
roller cams or lifters -, rocker arms ( NO roller or roller tips ), ignition coil - NO spark
boxes, MSD units or magnetos. All reproduction parts must remain the same size,
shape, and intended function of the original part.
Wet sump oil pans only. NO external oil supply or oil pumps are allowed.
Any cast iron water pump. Your choice of pulley(s) and belts. * Please remember
not to use any type of antifreeze or coolant --WATER ONLY!!
Any Mechanical fuel pump mounted in original stock location.
Any OEM cast iron two barrel intake. Any stock OEM cast iron exhaust manifold.
Both Intake an Exhaust manifolds must remain in stock original condition. NO
grinding, porting, or removal on any material. Ford Motorcraft Carburetors may use
factory spacer ( ONLY ) for butterfly clearance-- GM Rochester must bolt directly to
manifold ( no spacers ) with maximum 3/8 inch gasket.
Two barrel Carburetors -- Rochester 2gc --Maximum 1 3/8 venturi - 1 11/16
throttle bore for GM -- Motorcraft 2100-2150 Maximum 1.33 venturi - 1.64 throttle
bore - for Ford. NO external or internal modifications except for removal of choke.
May match the intake and intake runner. 1/2 inch max. to match.


** Option # 2
GM sealed 602 Crate Motor--A Beckley Motorsports Park (BMP) Certification and
SEAL will be required-- You will have the option of either purchasing these Crate
Motors thru WV Race Promotions, or you may purchase a new or used GM 602
Crate Motor from any source and have it Certified and Sealed by any authorized WV
Race Promotion Dealer.
Fuel System
Racing fuel cells are mandatory and must be securely mounted in trunk of car. A
20 gauge steel container with a minimum of two support straps on all sides of
container is required.
Street Pump or Racing gas is permitted. NO methanol, or any other fuel or fuel
additive may be used.
Wheels and Tires
Steel wheels ONLY. Racing wheels are recommended. 15 x 10 inch maximum
Stock bolt pattern only -- no Wide 5 wheels. Bead-Locks may be used on all 4 corners
side only. Minimum 1/2" wheel studs with 1" lug nuts required.
Tires must be10" Hoosier DOT or Hoosier E-MOD/ AMRA tires. NO grooving, or
sipping of tires. Use of any chemical application to alter tire compound is prohibited
by BMP and state and federal law!
Weight
Cars with Option # 1 Motors -- Minimum Weight 3500 lbs.
Cars with Option # 2 Crate Motors-- Minimum Weight 3200 lbs.
***Please refer to BMP track and safety rules for items not covered in this section.
** Engine options 1&2 will remain in effect for the 2011-2012 seasons
